Could This Be What You Have Been Looking For?

Could This Be What You Have Been Looking For?

We are really excited about our newest product, Mag-Focus, which delivers a well-researched combination of Magnesium and Vitamin B6.  This product was developed to help kids with focus and hyperactivity but is also very useful for kids with anxiety. This is particularly helpful because distinguishing between the symptoms of ADHD and anxiety can be difficult since the symptoms can overlap a lot.  Just check out the similar list of symptoms below:

ADHD: 14 Signs of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Self-focused behavior
  • Interrupting
  • Trouble waiting their turn
  • Emotional turmoil
  • Fidgetiness
  • Problems playing quietly
  • Unfinished tasks
  • Lack of focus
  • Avoidance
  • Making Mistakes
  • Daydreaming
  • Trouble getting organized
  • Forgetfulness

Anxiety: Anxiety Symptoms in Children

  • Restlessness
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Irritability
  • Muscle tension
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Abnormal fears
  • Trouble controlling feelings
  • Shaking

Since there are so many overlapping symptoms, it is often difficult for parents and doctors to figure out which one the child is struggling with.  The reason why there are so many similar symptoms is because ADHD and Anxiety have a common pathological pathway - an overactive brain and nervous system - also known as hyperexcitability.

When the brain is overly excited the child will have trouble concentrating, trouble sitting still, and will often feel anxious.  This is where the combination of Magnesium and Vitamin B6 really shines; in decreasing hyperexcitability.

Check out this study in the Journal of American College of Nutrition: Magnesium Vit B6 reduces central nervous system hyperexcitability in children.  I am going to just post the whole abstract here so you can read it for yourself:

OBJECTIVE:
Ionic magnesium (Mg(2+)) depletion has long been known to cause hyperexcitability with convulsive seizures in rodents, effects that have been reversed by treatment with magnesium (Mg). Metabolic disorders and genetic alterations are suspected in this pathology, in which Mg(2+) transport and intracellular distribution may be reduced without change in serum Mg(2+) concentrations. We evaluated the effects of Mg(2+)/vitamin B6 regimen on the behavior of 52 hyperexcitable children (under 15 years of age) and their families.
METHODS:
To assess intracellular Mg(2+), we measured intra-erthrocyte Mg(2+) levels (ERC-Mg). Our reference values for normal subjects were 2.46 to 2.72 mmol/L. In 30 of the 52 hyperactive children, there were low ERC-Mg values: 2.041 +/- 0.279 mmol/L). Combined Mg(2+)/vitamin B6 intake (100 mg/day) for 3 to 24 weeks restored normal ERC-Mg values (2.329 +/- 0.386 mmol/L).
RESULTS:
In all patients, symptoms of hyperexcitability (physical aggressivity, instability, scholar attention, hypertony, spasm, myoclony) were reduced after 1 to 6 months treatment. Other family members shared similar symptoms, had low ERC-Mg values, and also responded clinically to increased Mg(2+)/vitamin B6 intakes. Two typical families are described.
CONCLUSION:
This open study indicates that hyperexcitable children have low ERC-Mg with normal serum Mg(2+) values, and that Mg(2+)/vitamin B6 supplementation can restore normal ERC-Mg levels and improve their abnormal behavior.

In case you had trouble following along with the abstract, allow me to summarize it for you.  In this study, the researchers looked at the effects of a Magnesium-Vitamin B6 regimen on the behavior of 52 hyperexcitable children (under 15 years of age).  What they found was that the majority of the children had low RBC Magnesium levels at baseline and while restoring magnesium levels symptoms improved. “In all patients, symptoms of hyperexcitability (physical aggressivity, instability, scholar attention, hypertony, spasm, myoclony) were reduced after 1 to 6 months treatment”.

Did you catch that?  In all of the patients the overlapping symptoms of ADHD and anxiety were reduced.

Symptoms like aggressiveness, irritability, inability to focus, and muscle tightness were improved because magnesium and vitamin B6 decreased the hyperexcitability.

This is not the only study showing the link between magnesium and vitamin b6 decreasing hyperexcitability, but I think it is one of the most profound.  Because of studies like this we decided to make a magnesium / vitamin b6 supplement just for kids. We feel strongly that this will help a lot of kids / parents and are excited about the results.

Introducing Mag-Focus!

Mag-Focus: Could this be what you have been looking for to help improve your focus?

Here are the unique features of Mag-Focus:

  • Research based combination of magnesium and vitamin B6.
  • All natural sweeteners (monk fruit).
  • All natural colors.  No artificial dyes.
  • No artificial preservatives.
  • Easy to take chewable tablets.
  • Great strawberry taste.

If your child is struggling with symptoms suggestive of hyperexcitability such as inability to concentrate, inability to sit still, irritability, and anxiety, then Mag-Focus is worth trying.  It is very safe and has research backing up the effectiveness of a magnesium / vitamin B6 combination to help your children. Please note that it can take 2 to 3 months for magnesium and B6 levels to increase so we encourage both patience and regular use.

Blessings to you and your family,
